Umberto Fiorentino Edizione: Carisch srl Una delle caratteristiche che differenziano la chitarra da strumenti strutturalmente piú "logici", quali, ad esempio, il pianoforte, il vibrafono e gli strumenti a fiato, é la grande quantitá di alternative nella diteggiatura dei singoli suoni e delle scale, resa possibile dall'avere suoni di uguale altezza su corde diverse. Tale varietá é al tempo stesso una formidabile potenzialitá ma anche un consistente limite, visto che la grande maggioranza dei chitarristi, per non avventurarsi in quella che sembra apparentemente un'impresa troppo ardua, usa solo poche "sicure" diteggiature, sfruttando cosí solo in minima parte le possibilitá del proprio strumento. Ció che é importante comprendere é che questa quantitá di alternative risponde ad una logica insita nello strumento stesso. Non é necessario impare "ogni possibile diteggiatura", perché quelle che vedremo essere principali ci renderanno disponibili tutte le altre.
